Anuga FoodTec 2018: Registration period kicks off

* Early bird discount until 31 May 2017
* Increased number of exhibitors and exhibition space expected
* Huge interest from the industry even prior to the registration period

Starting signal for the booking phase of the world's most important supplier trade fair of the food and beverage industry: Since the beginning of June, companies have been able to register as exhibitors for the coming edition of Anuga FoodTec, which is being staged in Cologne from 20 to 23 March 2018. Application forms can be downloaded at www.anugafoodtec.com/registration. The early bird discount of Euro 30/m² applies until 31 May 2017. After numerous existing exhibitors have already enquired about larger stand areas and many companies have shown an interest in exhibiting for the first time, new growth is expected for the coming edition, both in terms of the number of exhibitors and exhibition space.

Anuga FoodTec has been experiencing considerable growth for years: Between 2009 and 2015 the attendance figures rose up to over 45,000 (+35 percent), over the same period of time the number of exhibitors increased up to approx. 1,500 (+25 percent). Last, but not least Anuga FoodTec confirmed its reputation as a business and innovation platform for all sections of the global food industry with the presence of the top ten most important food companies on the visitor front and as a result of its high level of internationality: The number of foreign trade visitors was over 54 percent, the share of international exhibitors was 56 percent. The visitors at Anuga FoodTec 2015 came from 139 countries. As such, the exhibitors had the opportunity to meet up with all international customers at one trade fair.

The top theme of Anuga FoodTec in 2018 is resource efficiency and this topic will be addressed by all sections of the trade fair. Of key importance here is reinforcing the competitiveness with the aim of using less energy and water through optimisation of the production process and a reduction in food loss. ProFood Tech, the new supplier trade fair for the food industries of the markets in the USA, Canada and Mexico is also picking up on the trend theme resource efficiency in its supporting programme.

The next Anuga FoodTec will take place from 20 to 23 March 2018 in Cologne. The trade fair is jointly organised by Koelnmesse and the German Agricultural Society (DLG).
