Anuga FoodTec, the internationally leading supplier trade fair for the food and beverage industry, will be opening its gates from 20 to 23 March 2018. Around 1,700 exhibitors are expected at the trade fair halls in Cologne. Anuga FoodTec is the world’s leading platform at which the technological innovations and further developments for all key sectors in the food and beverage industry are presented together at the same time.

The extensive programme of events and congresses with top-flight speakers at Conferences, Forums, Guided Tours and numerous Special Shows is also a reliable source of information and inspiration. Due to its immense importance for the food and beverage industry, the topic of resource efficiency is the key theme at Anuga FoodTec 2018.

The concentrated innovative energy of the food industry and its suppliers is manifested in the International FoodTec Award, which is being presented by DLG and its partners for the 10th time at Anuga FoodTec this year. The 17 award-winning innovations impressively document the technical expertise and forward-looking orientation of the international food technology sector.

Anuga FoodTec is the leading international supplier fair for the food and beverage industry. It will be proving this once again from 20 to 23 March 2018: Around 1,700 suppliers from more than 50 countries will be presenting their new products for the production and packing of all types of food on 140,000 square metres of exhibition space. The comprehensive range of exhibits will once again be accompanied by a multi-faceted event and congress programme. Target group-specific lectures, conferences, forums, guided tours, special events and networking events will thereby create additional impulses and added value for the exhibitors and visitors.

International FoodTec Award 2018

The DLG (German Agricultural Society) has announced the winners of the 2018 International FoodTec Award. This year, the renowned prize will be awarded to 17 innovations from the international food manufacturing and supply industry. Five innovations receive the International FoodTec Award in gold, while a further 12 receive the silver award. The winners this year include companies from Belgium, Denmark, Italy, Russia, Switzerland and Germany. The award ceremony will take place on 20 March 2018 at Anuga FoodTec which takes place in Cologne.

Anuga FoodTec offers a large number of innovative exhibitors and addresses topical issues related to food technology. Make use of the Guided Tours to obtain a compact and informative overview. In the course of the roughly hour-long tours, exhibitors will take approx. 10 minutes to show and explain to you their innovative products and optimal solutions. The Robotik-Pack-Line team is showing a fully automated food packaging process at Anuga FoodTec 2018. The Robotik-Pack-Line is an automatic packaging line that carries out the complete packaging operation from primary to secondary packaging. It assures high product safety for the end customer and cost reduction for the food company through the use of individual energy-efficient modules. The complete system will be shown in Hall 7 at booth D-090.

International Fruit and Vegetable Juice Association

IFU is the dedicated international fruit and vegetable juice association bringing together members of the juice community. It promotes collaboration and best practice through active commissions. The legislation commission, for example, represents the juice industry as an NGO at Codex Alimentarius and also monitors relevant activities of the WHO, WTO and WCO. IFU holds the Technical Workshop 2018 the day before Anuga FoodTec, to establish even closer contact between equipment suppliers and juice processors.

The Institute of Food Technology and Food Chemistry at the TU Berlin sees food technology and food chemistry as interdisciplinary scientific disciplines with high relevance for society. The forthcoming challenges can only be mastered in close cooperation between nutrition sciences, engineering sciences and natural sciences. The Institute has 7 departments: Brewery and Beverage, Food Colloids, Food Biotechnology, Food Chemistry and Analytics, Food Chemistry and Toxicology, Food Technology and Science of Materials and Food Process Engineering.
