TRAPO presents live the high-performance kinematic picker of the HPPS Series, which replaces the traditionally third-party delta or articulated arm robot in packaging processes.
One system - one control: a matter of course for TRAPO, because hardware and software come from a single source. One contact person looks after all aspects of the system; accordingly, considerable effort is reduced from commissioning to service.
Pick-and-place applications include gripping, sorting, provisioning and packing in cardboard boxes.
With their enormous stroke and extended radius, kinematic pickers ensure consistently high process quality, flexibility, optimum machine availability and enormous cycle rates.
The high-performance parallel kinematics consist of a five-link kinematic structure, a Z-axis and a rotary module for orientation. To optimize it for the application, the innovative high-performance kinematics can be built in different variants and additional picker cells can be added to a line at any time.
As a picker variant, the high-speed pick-and-place system (HPPS Series) can pick products with up to 200 parts/minute and payloads up to 1 kg. The modular system has three degrees of freedom. With the help of a camera, the parallel kinematics detect the position of the parts. These are picked or discharged in the NIO case.
For additional applications as a packing robot, a fourth Z-axis is required. The high-speed kinematics system (HKS series) then operates at up to 60 parts/minute and payloads of up to 5 kg.
The kinematics including gripper technology is also developed and manufactured at TRAPO analogously to the respective task.
TRAPO picker lines also automate the laborious process of forming mixed trays by hand: single-sort trays are depalletized and the products including trays are placed on a conveyor belt. Pickers grab the goods and form them into any tray combinations.
