New BEHN + BATES hygienic concept CARE-LINE
Experts consider plastic bags to be the most hygienic packing material for highly sensitive food products. The risk of contaminations is already reduced to a minimum during the PE film production. However, most of the available packing machines have not been able to meet very high hygiene standards. Thus, the German packaging manufacturer BEHN + BATES developed the idea for a new hygienic machine for PE film bag filling. The entire machine development has closely been accompanied by one BEHN + BATES key customer – as well as by the PE film producer who parallel developed a new double-layer gusseted film for better product protection.
In May 2017 BEHN + BATES presented its Roto-Packer Adams CARE-LINE Edition that combines proven machine components in a new way in order to minimize dust deposit areas and guarantee optimum cleaning features. Some examples: The number of integrated components is minimized. All parts are encased. There are nearly no machine parts, that could fall into the product during filling, above the open bag. Machine edges are inclined, corners are rounded. There are no open threads, edges and drill holes in the sectional steel frame - thus no points where product dust can build up. Product dust deposits can easily be removed from the inclined edges and rounded corners.
During the machine development BEHN + BATES put special focus on the selection of components: A majority of integrated parts are certified by EHEDG (European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group).
New function: PE film welding with perfect edge definition
The BEHN + BATES Roto-Packer Adams CARE-LINE Edition is an FFS system for filling powders into PE film bags – and more especially into double-layer PE film bags for better product protection. Same as in every FFS machine the bag is formed from an endless gusseted film, filled and sealed. However, the new machine makes it possible – for the first time – to seal PE film bags up to the outer edge. It has a perfect edge definition in order to protect the products in the filled bag better than ever before from bacteria, etc.
With its new machine BEHN + BATES is well prepared to meet the continuously growing hygienic demands in the food industry and to tread new paths with customers wanting to introduce new trend-setting packaging concepts in their companies.
