Sensory analysis of foods is a young field of science with growing relevance in food product development and quality assurance. With the International DLG Sensory Analysis Award presented annually, DLG draws attention to the high significance of this science and supports the exceptional commitment of sensory analysis talents. The target group of the DLG Sensory Analysis Award, endowed with EUR 2,500, consists above all of German-speaking junior scientists in Diploma, Bachelor's or Master's degree programmes, working in the context of food sensory analysis, who can apply for the award with their project papers or term papers, or with theses or research work outside universities. Alongside the scientific quality, the practical benefit and the contribution to solving current questions in food sensory analysis play a role in the decision-making process that is supported by the DLG Sensory Analysis Committee. The Committee will decide on the basis of an abstract submitted whether the work is to be presented in the poster session or shortlisted for a brief presentation at the DLG Food Conference - Sensory Analysis.
