The event

In 2018, RBK built the first industrial meat plant in which the production of meat products was completely free of fossil fuels and the entire production process was supplied "all-electric". In his practical report, Theo Vliek describes how the RBK Group realised this with the help of the RBK method. The RBK method ensures that companies in the food industry can put the twin transformation (digitalisation & energy transformation) into practice during new construction and conversion measures. The practical example shows how holistic construction planning in combination with an intelligent software-controlled machine and cooling system control system ensures that 34% of the energy was saved in the practical example. When the sun rises in the morning, the electricity generated is channelled via the cooling system software to the refrigeration system in the (deep-freeze) cold storage rooms (battery function). When production starts at 6.00 a.m., all the electricity generated via photovoltaics goes into production. Further details of this BREEAM award-winning new building will be presented by Theo Vliek. The icing on the cake of digitalisation is the use of MES software, which enables error-free work and saves the 3 M's (material, machine running time, man).
