The event
Bulk materials occur in all sectors and industries. However, an especially sensitive handling of solid substances to be processed has always been required in the food industry. The basic principles of many processes for handling bulk materials, like sieving, mixing or chopping up, haven't changed for many years. But the general conditions have. Complex product properties with simultaneously more demanding quality requirements are increasingly changing production processes. Bulk materials in the food industry are also a challenge for system operators, especially from the standpoint of safety for the product, production process and not least the consumer. Current information on this topic is available from the DSIV Deutscher Schüttgut-Industrieverband (German Bulk Material Industrial Association).
