A manufacturer of automatic bottling systems got repeated complaints that the bearings in its equipment kept failing.
Several bottlers of wine, spirits, juice and other beverages reported that the seals in their systems’ stainless steel deep grove ball bearings could not withstand the high temperature washdowns required for their facilities to meet food safety standards. When the seals failed, so did the bearings.
Timken proposed a stainless steel deep groove ball bearing with food-grade Solid Lube to replace the existing sealed solution.
Timken® Solid Lube withstands the high washdown temperatures. Designed for harsh environments, this versatile grease alternative completely fills in between the races, rolling elements and cage, further guarding the bearing against contamination.
Switching to this upgraded bearing solution delivered:
• More uptime
• Lower maintenance costs
• Reliable production
