About Prof. Dr. Judith Kreyenschmidt
Judith Kreyenschmidt completed her Diploma and PhD in Food Technology at the University of Bonn. The topic of her dissertation was the implementation of intelligent packaging in the meat industry; her thesis was awarded by the “Stockmeyer research prize”. Since 2017 she has a Professorship in food quality and processing of fresh products at the University of Geisenheim. Her research topics focus on the development of simulation models to predict the shelf life of perishable products, the development of new approaches and methods to support Cold Chain Management and the development and testing of sustainable packaging solutions to reduce food waste
She has more than 20 years of research experience in the field of intelligent packaging and she was involved in several national and international research projects in this field.
