About Ludwig Schmidtchen
Ludwig Schmidtchen, a dedicated professional in the field of sustainable packaging, has been researching alternative raw materials since 2016. With a focus on algae, he has worked in various positions, currently as General Manager - Biomaterials at Sea6 Energy Pvt. Ltd, developing economical production processes for materials for the packaging industry. Prior to that, he was Project Manager Seaweed Polymers and Application Engineer Biopolymers at Brabender GmbH & Co KG and contributed significantly to the development of processes for the conversion of seaweed. Ludwig's academic background includes a degree in mechanical engineering (M.Eng.) from the Technical University of Dresden, where he specialized in processing and packaging machinery. He became involved in the cultivation of seaweed as a research assistant at Ocean Rainforest Sp/F. Ludwig Schmidtchen is a passionate advocate of environmentally friendly solutions in the packaging industry.
