Since December 2022, Florian Woitek-Kießling has headed the "Due Diligence Control 2 and 3" units at the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA). Born in Leipzig, he also returned to his home town to work in the "Supply Chain Due Diligence Act" development team at the new BAFA site in Borna. After studying business administration, political science and public administration in Leipzig and Jerusalem, Florian Woitek-Kießling worked as a management consultant at Bucerius Law School, Hamburg (2010-2015). Since 2016, he has worked in the Saxon State Government, most recently as a consultant for SMEs, innovation, industry, mining, energy, structural development and budget in the management staff of the Saxon State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport (SMWA). In summer 2020, Mr Woitek-Kießling took up a position as Seconded National Expert in the European Commission's Directorate-General for Energy in Brussels. There, he focussed primarily on energy and climate policy and the fair design of structural development in the European coal and peat regions. Florian Woitek-Kießling is involved in various initiatives for European and international cooperation.
